BOO!!

Kendall had a fun Halloween!!  She got a lot of TREATS, including some Halloween tattoos that she wanted all over!  We decided one on each hand, and one on each cheek for starters.  I told her they can go on her belly & feet too if she wanted, but she was a little annoyed with the application process...  :)

Kendall LOVES Elmo, so I thought that would be a good idea for her costume.  She would give me a different answer everytime I asked her what she wanted to be for Halloween.  Some of her answers included:
*Cake
*Milk
*Daddy
I'm pretty sure that she didn't get the concept (and still doesn't), but that's ok.  :>)

Our neighbor always answers the door in a scary mask.  Well, not always, but on Halloween he does.  It totally freaked her out at first, and she was really scared of him.  :(  She warmed up when he took it off & let her squeeze the nose.  When we were ready to go to a few houses, she was still apprehensive, but was ok if Daddy held her.  Here she is tickling him:

She was even ok when he gave her some candy...

But then got freaked out again when we were walking away.  He's now known as "Scary Jim".

Heading down the street for some goodies!

Stopping at Sydney's house ~ she was still a little freaked out when people came to the door.  Didn't want to run into "Scary Jim" anywhere.

Heading back home, treats already opened!  Ooops!  I didn't wash the H1N1 virus off!  :^p

Not too sure about the kids coming to the door.  At one point there was a zombie & a witch, and she came running to me crying.  She couldn't stop saying "I don't like a witch" for about 15 minutes after that.

They decided it would be safe to watch the rest of the Cars movie... do you think Daddy has had a long day??  :)

We hope everyone had a safe and Happy Halloween!!

Maternity Pictures!

I had Justyna from Funky Monkey Photography take family/maternity pictures of us a few weeks ago. She has been taking pictures of us since I was pregnant with Kendall, and always does an AWESOME job. Even when Kendall pooped on her props at 2 weeks old, Justyna keeps coming back. :) Job hazard I guess! :)

Sand Animation

This is SO amazing - I hope they never pull it off of YouTube. I could watch this every day & never tire of it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=518XP8prwZo

Here is the explanation behind it:
She is telling the story of the Ukraine people during WWII. Ukraine had 1 out of 4 people die during the war. She is using a young couple in love at the start of the war and follows the trauma through their child and the grief of incredible loss for an entire nation and appx. 20% of all fatalities in the entire war. Go to the Observer web site for their article on this incredible artist and her motivation. An entire nation was moved by her performance of their history.

*Chaos* ...but we're happy about it!

So, the offer on our house looks like it's going through. It only took from June, but finally they got an offer on their house that they accepted! Yay! Our inspection went well, so the houses just have to appraise out & we'll be set. It's quite the whirlwind around here, and Brett & I are up late every night either making tweaks to our plans for the new house, packing or talking demo/fire/asbestos details on the cabin. I'll be SO relieved if we are able to start building yet this year, it would be nice to be in the house in the late spring/early summer rather than a year from now. Little delaying details keep coming up & we're just in the beginning stages!
I'm going to look at some condos for rent tomorrow. Should be interesting! A few are brand new, so that will be nice. Brett has no desire to be involved in that process, so I guess I'm on my own until lease negotiating time! Then he'll take over. :)

One thing is good, I think we already found our granite for the new house! I think it looks like the surface of the moon. It took me FOREVER to find the granite that is in our current kitchen, I was SUPER picky about it. So, we decided it would be a good thing to pick out first, followed by cabinets & flooring. We started to look already because I wanted to see what was out there & have time in case we needed to wait for new stuff to come in. Thankfully, we found something we love & can move on with those decisions. I hope they're all that easy! (yeah, right)
Here are a couple pics from a recent park trip the other day. We met Anne, Keegan & Fin for some afternoon fun. I have a lot of cute pics, but since it's 11:15pm I don't have the energy to upload them right now. It was a really nice day out (maybe our last one!). Keegan hurt his leg during a goodbye hug with Kendall that ended up on the ground - we're waiting to find out the diagnosis. Hopefully her love didn't hurt him too badly! :(
Check out that airplane!!

Practicing her beam routine... :)

Soooo tired... good night!

BIG BIG bed!

So I want to get Kendall used to sleeping on the full sized bed, because we're not going to take down/reassemble the crib while we're living in temp housing (if that ever happens...). We thought the baby could sleep in the bassinette until we're in the new house & Kendall can sleep on the full sized mattress (which is going to end up being her bed at the new house too). I didn't want new bed/new home/new sister to happen all at once, so I'm going to start having her take naps in that bed.

We had the first run-thru, and it was a success! I had ordered some toddler pillows for her off of ETSY, Nemo & Curious George. They were a hit! She actually took a decent nap in there the first time - over 2 hrs! I thought for sure the first time she would mostly talk & be distracted by her new surroundings, but she fell asleep in 15 min or so. I'll probably have her sleep in there a couple more times this week, and probably on Sunday again. :)

My husband seems to be hell-bent on giving me a heart attack before this baby comes. Between his distracted driving habits & these types of chores around the house, I don't think I'm going to make it to see this baby! >:(
Here he is cleaning the seagull poop off of the canopy top. Notice he's standing on the top step of the ladder, leaning over with the scrubber. Grrrrrrr

Jumping and Flipping all Weekend Long!

We had a great weekend! Thank goodness we had a lot of inside activities planned since it was so cold out! I'm glad I didn't see any snowflakes though, not sure how I would have handled that!
Kendall's friend Melissa had her 2nd birthday party on Saturday at Monkey Joe's. It's one of those bouncy places where everything is inflated. It was pretty busy, but the kids sure didn't mind! I think the dads were a little more worn out than the girls were! :)
Kendall with birthday girl Melissa:

There were a lot of fun slides too! Wheeeeeee!

Kendall's got the climbing down, Daddy didn't need to help much!
Lily had a great time too!
"Hey... Lily's piece is bigger than mine!"

Hugs for the birthday girl!

Today we went to the Little Gym for their open house. It was also PACKED! It took Kendall a little walking around to get used to the amount of parents & kids there - she's not used to that since her class only has 2! Of course she warmed up & in no time was running around & playing like usual.
She can get her feet up to the bar by herself now!

She loves lounging in the donut mat!

There were a TON of people there!

Here's a video of her favorite bar routine. :)
And her other favorite, the BIG Beam:

We had a great time!

Fire Trucks!!

Kendall's bed has lost its railing. This is because Mommy got frustrated yesterday when she decided not to nap, but to kick it, shake it & hold onto it while jumping on the bed. I want to move it to the full sized bed anyway, since she'll be moving to that one soon. SO, I put some pillows on the floor & hoped for the best! She fell out at 4am, but complained a little & got right back in. :)

We spent part of the morning at the park with Keegan & Finlay. It was a nice day out, and might be one of the last good ones! :( Kendall had fun with the boys as always.

Tonight was the McFarland Fire Dept Open House - and it was a hit! We were a little worried when Kendall started crying the first time Brett climbed up into the truck, but it just took a little time to warm up (cake helped too!) and she was all about the trucks.

This puppy was a little creepy, Kendall didn't know what to think about him. I was trying my hardest to keep it light & happy...

That's right, my kid is the fire chief! :)

Straight for the frosting, just like mommy.

Driving this thing is the BEST!!

You can't tell, but we're outside & there's a fire truck behind us.

While we were by it, the firefighters got a call & jumped in! Kendall was thrilled with the lights & sirens! (we weren't sure if it was a drill or real, but don't tell her)

"DID YOU SEE THAT?!?!"

Sticking our tounges out at Daddy. :p

"Hang Loose, Dude."
