Fun things going on before Baby arrives...

We had a much better weekend this past weekend. Thanksgiving was fun and relaxing at Sharon's, I made a pie and cupcakes. We had about 8 desserts, so Baby was happy. :) Here's Kendall helping me make the cupcakes:

She was a really good helper when it came time to color up the frosting:

Here's the pie I made (I was kind of proud of it):

We went to Brian & Kim's for Vicki's birthday, and as always, Kendall had fun playing with Lily!

We also had a fun pizza party with Aunt Kristin & the boys. They brought over some games to play & the kids had a lot of fun!
Playing the Curious George zoo game:

Playing the Uno Farm game:

Watching Heath play XBox:

Tickling Benny!

Yesterday was my due date (sorry for those of you who voted for that date. December baby it is!), so we went out for breakfast to celebrate.

Kendall had chocolate chip pancakes, but she was more interested in my english muffin and of course, eating the whip cream from the pancakes:

Tonight I had reflexology done. I was interested in it and have never had it before, so I thought I'd try it out. It was kind of annoying. I knew I wasn't going in for a relaxing massage, but he basically pressed on the same spots on my feet over and over again. I was ready to be done about 1/2 way through, but I knew I should stick it out. :) Tomorrow's pedicure should be much more enjoyable. We'll keep you posted if any of it works!

Terrible Weekend

Well, it's a good thing this baby seems content where she's at. We had a really BAD weekend. It all started on Friday when Brett was diagnosed (over the phone of course) with H1N1. We didn't want to take any chances, so he didn't even really come home except for to walk into the garage & get the bag I packed for him. We sent him to our friend's lake house that they only use in the summer until he felt better. Kendall is only a week out from getting vaccinated so we didn't want to take the chance that she would get it, and we didn't want him staying with his mom since she'll be taking Kendall when I go into labor so we didn't want them to get sick either.

I called my mom hysterically, terrified that if I go into labor Brett couldn't be there or around the baby. She came up immediately to be with me in case that happened.

Brett started feeling better and we thought we were in the clear when I woke up at 4am on Monday morning with awful GI virus symptoms - coming out both ends, I'm sure you don't need any additional explanation. I very quickly became extremely dehydrated & weak, and the OB on call suggested that I come in to Labor & Delivery at St Marys to be put on IV fluids. Brett's mom came over to be with Kendall and my mom and I headed to the hospital. Monday was awful - I couldn't even keep 2 little ice chips down. They ended up admitting me overnight for observation and to continue the fluids. Finally the second anti-nausea med seemed to do the trick, and by Tuesday morning I was able to keep down some clear liquids. It got better from there and I was able to go home around lunch time. There must have been something in those IV fluids, because ever since I've been home I've been on a mission to get things done! Maybe my "nesting" realized it lost a few days and wants to catch up...

Needless to say, we hope to not ever repeat the events from this weekend (by the way, everyone - docs and all- believe what Brett had was the same GI virus that I did, NOT H1N1. He's still going to get the vaccine this week just in case).

On a lighter note, here are a few fun pictures that I had on my phone from recently prior to getting sick.

When I got Kendall in for her H1N1 vaccine, I prepped her that it was going to be medicine in her nose, not a shot.  We talked about "sniffing" it in, etc.  When we got into the clinic, she got a bit freaked out about it & held her hand like this the whole time.  She kept telling me, "Mommy, mines nose is ALL better."  :)

Cheering on the last Badger game:

Reading a book in her chair (she put the hat on herself):

We were able to hit the park one last time for some fun - we were the only ones there so we had the run of the place!  :)  Here she is showing off climbing the rock wall:

And of course she had to walk the "beam":

Grandma Sue brought over some crackers & "silly cheese" for a snack - we had some fun with them:

Last but not least, Brett & I are really excited (especially after our awful weekend) that we got a new iPod Nano (the new version that shoots video).  I'm not kidding, below is the box it came in.  The little white box in the bottom right corner is the actual Nano box.  A little bit of overkill?!?  It's a nice sized box, so we'll reuse it, but what a waste!!!

I know some of you can't wait, but I'm hoping not to go into labor for awhile... at least until Saturday or even next week sometime.  We just need to continue settling in and resting before the next chapter begins... we'll keep you posted!

Sesame Street Videos

I guess I have to be in a different editor setting to post videos to the blog now... Anyway, here are a couple from tonight's show. The whole experience was too cute.

Here she is doing the hula:

Dancing to the surfing song:

Needless to say, the show was a total hit! :)

Sesame Street!

We just got back from Sesame Street Live!  Needless to say, Kendall LOVED it!  We didn't tell her where we were going, just that we were taking her to a surprise.  She was pretty excited when we walked in and saw Elmo standing next to the merchandise stand!  He also distracted her from asking for everything there!  (of course, I did buy her a t-shirt, but she doesn't know it yet)

Here's her face when the show started - she was in total awe.  I know I'm pregnant and all, but it totally made me tear up - I was SO glad to be able to give this to her after everything that's been going on and before the arrival of her attention-stealing baby sister.  :)

Part of the show was to close your eyes & imagine you were somewhere else...

Elmo was covering his eyes, so of course she had to do it that way...

I can't believe flash photography was allowed, but I guess they don't care at kid's shows.  Here's some of the gang:

She loved every minute of it!!

Especially when she got popcorn.  The only time she wanted to leave was when she ran out, she wanted to go buy some more.  :)

Here she's waving goodbye to Elmo.

We had a great time!

Bye Bye Camp!

Well, we sold and closed our house today.  I didn't even cry.  I think we've had so much going on lately and it has been so consuming that it was a big relief rather than a sad moment.  We really like the people that bought our house, and we might even start hanging out with them!  How many people can say that?!?  :)
We'll definitely miss the sunsets and the view of the Capitol!

And the mural that Aunt Kristin did!

Our new focus is getting baby stuff ready and getting the condo put away.  It's been crazy since the move - I don't even know where my shoes are!  Thankfully I've only needed a crappy pair of tennies (I found boots to wear to the closing thankfully).
The condo is growing on us - at first Brett (and many others who have seen it) thought it was going to be too small, but it's turning out to be fine.  The hardest part for both of us (yes, I'm NOT taking full blame) is going from a 12x11 closet to about 4x8.  We are making due with portable closets & hanging bars in the lower level though.  Also the garage is TINY - I'm really worried about hitting Brett's car when I pull in.  I guess it wouldn't entirely be my fault...

Kendall got a cute Halloween card the other day that had some "monies" in it.  She was pretty excited!  Although, I think we need to pay for more things in front of her with cash rather than a card, since she thought the dollars would be better to "fix mines owies" on her foot.

She also had a very exciting mid-morning event, a poop on the potty chair!!  We were very excited, and she was EXTREMELY proud of herself and very excited to be able to wear a pair of Mickey panties!  They're over her diaper as you can see, but she's loving it nonetheless.  :)

One more silly picture- this one you may have already seen but it was too funny not to post.  On our way home from school the other day, Kendall grabbed a swim diaper out of the backseat and decided it would be a good hat.  Aaaahhhh to be 2!!  :)
